We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow Front-End / UI-UX Developer with strong web development fundamentals and hands-on ServiceNow Service Portal experience. This role focuses on designing and developing intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces that enhance the end-user experience across ServiceNow portals and custom web applications. The ideal candidate blends UX design thinking with technical front-end expertise, translating business requirements into elegant, scalable, and high-performance ServiceNow UI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Front-End & UI Development
- Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow Service Portal interfaces using:
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
- AngularJS (Service Portal widgets)
- Bootstrap / UI Frameworks
- Build and customize Service Portal widgets, themes, and layouts.
- Develop responsive, mobile-friendly, and cross-browser compatible UI components.
- Implement UI policies, client scripts, and UI scripts to enhance user interactions.
UI/UX Design
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into user-centered designs.
- Apply UX best practices for usability, accessibility (WCAG), and visual consistency.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar).
- Ensure consistent branding and design standards across portals.
Web & Platform Integration
- Integrate ServiceNow portals with REST APIs, third-party systems, and custom web applications.
- Optimize front-end performance and maintain clean, reusable code.
- Support portal enhancements across ITSM, HRSD, CSM, or custom applications.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with ServiceNow architects, back-end developers, and business analysts.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and iterative delivery cycles.
- Perform UI testing, debugging, and documentation.
Here's what you need:
- 3+ years of front-end web development experience.
- 2+ years of ServiceNow Service Portal development experience.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of the following:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- AngularJS (Service Portal framework)
- Bootstrap or similar UI frameworks
- Experience building custom ServiceNow widgets and themes.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow UI components:
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies
- UI Scripts
- Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, usability, and accessibility.
- Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Ability to balance visual design with technical constraints.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with ServiceNow UI Builder / Now Experience (Next Experience).
- Familiarity with ITSM, HRSD, CSM, or custom ServiceNow applications.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
- ServiceNow CSA or CIS certifications.
- Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience modernizing legacy Service Portal UIs.
- Exposure to React or modern front-end frameworks (outside ServiceNow).
- Design system or component library experience.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
