AFS is seeking a Test Engineer to join our dynamic team in San Diego, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. If you have hands-on experience with manual testing, a solid understanding of Linux operating systems, and basic knowledge of networking and scripting, we want to hear from you. The role is fully on site in San Diego, CA. Secret Clearance is required, with an opportunity to obtain TS Clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct onsite software testing during installation and development
- Test various iterations of the project software employed at customer sites and the local development lab
- Support software developers with testing functions of the software during onsite installations at customer locations when necessary
- Use automated testing tools to design/develop automated testing frameworks
- Create and follow manual testing procedures to validate requirements
Here is what you need:
- Prior testing experience
- Experience working with Linux/Unix based operating systems
- Basic understanding of bash scripting and programming
- Basic understanding of networking and operating systems (HTTP, TCP/IP)
- Experience with Git and/or GitLab as well as VMWare or KVM
Bonus points if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Equivalent military experience
- Familiarity with programming languages (VB, VBScript, Java, C++, Python)
- Experience with Open Source software (Apache Web Server, LibreOffice, etc.)
- Experience with testing tools (Sikulix, Playwright)

- Ability to obtain TS Clearance

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
