Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer 100% remote to design, develop, and manage the AWS cloud platform infrastructure supporting mission‐critical meteorological web applications. In this role, you will architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments that enable high‐performance application deployment while ensuring reliability, observability, and compliance with federal standards.
What You Will Do:
- Design and implement secure, scalable AWS cloud architecture that strengthens platform reliability and performance
- Drive IaC, automated provisioning, and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery and reduce manual effort
- Lead containerization, orchestration, and DevOps practices to improve deployment speed and consistency
- Implement monitoring, logging, and optimization strategies to enhance system visibility and reduce downtime
- Architect high‐availability, networking, and disaster recovery solutions that ensure mission continuity
- Define governance, security controls, and platform standards to improve compliance and operational excellence
- Partner with application teams and mentor engineers to elevate overall cloud engineering capability
- Maintain clear platform documentation to support efficient operations and knowledge transfer
Here's What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of hands‐on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure‐as‐Code and automation tools
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and secure cloud architectures
Bonus points if You Have:
- Master’s degree in a related technical field and/or experience with scientific or meteorological data applications
- Experience with geospatial or advanced browser‐based visualization technologies (WebGL, Canvas, GIS tools)
- Familiarity with meteorological data formats
- Knowledge of microservices, containerization, cloud cost optimization, and multi‐region deployments
