Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Lattice Showcase team at Anduril delivers immersive experiences that tell cohesive, compelling stories about how Anduril products accomplish critical missions. Leveraging Sand Table—our internal 3D visualization platform that transforms data into interactive augmented reality environments—we translate complex demonstrations into streamlined, interactive showcases for government and military leaders. We work across multiple product lines—integrating capabilities from autonomy, hardware, and software—to craft narratives that align all stakeholders around mission outcomes. Our work bridges engineering simulation and compelling storytelling: we take real-world demos running in simulation and transform them into polished, interactive experiences that showcase how our technology delivers mission success. As a cross-functional team of designers, operators, and integrators, we combine technical depth with narrative craft to demonstrate the full potential of Anduril's capabilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Scenario Designer on the Lattice Showcase team, you will craft compelling and operationally credible demonstrations that showcase Anduril's technology solving real-world defense challenges. You will work closely with product teams, subject matter experts, and military stakeholders to design, implement, and refine mission scenarios that align technical capabilities with customer needs and mission outcomes. Your work will translate complex, multi-product demonstrations into clear, engaging narratives optimized for decision-maker audiences—balancing technical accuracy with storytelling that resonates.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and develop medium- to high-fidelity mission simulations and operational scenarios that model real-world defense environments, system behaviors, and mission outcomes
  • Build and refine simulation logic, behavior trees, and system interactions that accurately represent autonomous platforms, sensors, weapons, and command-and-control behaviors
  • Develop operational models that capture radar behavior, sensor performance, platform interactions, environmental effects, and mission constraints across multi-domain scenarios
  • Implement and integrate simulation components using tools such as AFSIM, STK, MATLAB/Simulink, Python (NumPy/SciPy), or comparable modeling and simulation frameworks
  • Create technically credible simulation environments used for customer demonstrations, operational analysis, experimentation, and mission visualization
  • Collaborate closely with autonomy, software, hardware, and perception teams to ensure simulation behaviors accurately reflect real system capabilities and limitations
  • Prototype and validate scenario designs through iterative testing, tuning, and analysis to ensure operational realism and technical accuracy
  • Translate complex operational concepts into intuitive, narrative-driven showcase experiences without sacrificing technical fidelity
  • Work with military subject matter experts and operational stakeholders to validate tactics, mission flows, and engagement behaviors
  • Identify modeling gaps, technical constraints, and fidelity tradeoffs early in development and propose scalable solutions
  • Contribute to simulation architecture, scenario design standards, and best practices across the Showcase organization

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Modeling & Simulation, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 2+ years of professional experience in developing simulations, operational models, wargames, or mission environments for defense, aerospace, autonomy, robotics, or related technical domains
  • Experience building and implementing system-level models that simulate platform behaviors, sensor interactions, environmental effects, or mission outcomes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create clear design documentation and incorporate stakeholder feedback
  • Hands-on experience with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM, STK, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python-based scientific computing frameworks (e.g., NumPy, SciPy)
  • Experience designing behavior trees, autonomy logic, state machines, or agent-based behaviors for simulated systems
  • Experience debugging, validating, and iterating on complex simulation environments
  • Analytical skills for scenario balancing and iterative design
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience designing scenarios for military simulations, wargames, or defense applications
  • Experience modeling radar systems, RF/sensor behavior, kill chains, ISR workflows, or multi-domain operational scenarios
  • Background in autonomy, AI behaviors, agent-based simulation, or mission-level system orchestration
  • Experience building or deploying simulation environments used for customer demonstrations, experimentation, or mission rehearsal
  • Familiarity with behavior-tree frameworks, decision logic systems, or AI-driven simulation architectures
  • Experience integrating simulation outputs with visualization platforms, game engines, or immersive environments such as Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Understanding of military operations, tactical planning, command-and-control structures, and operational doctrine
  • Portfolio demonstrating scenario/mission/level design work for interactive applications
  • Knowledge of XR design principles and constraints
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams
