Have you ever had that green-light feeling? When you hit every green light and the day just feels like magic. CLEAR's mission is to create frictionless experiences where every day has that feeling. With more than 30+ million passionate members and hundreds of partners around the world, CLEAR’s identity platform is transforming the way people live, work, and travel. Whether it’s at the airport, stadium, or right on your phone, CLEAR connects you to the things that make you, you - unlocking easier, more secure, and more seamless experiences - making them all feel like magic.
Join CLEAR and take the reins in designing and scaling our next-generation Identity and Access Management (IAM) program. As the Senior Security Engineer for Zero Trust, you won’t just implement solutions — you’ll own the strategy. We’re looking for a technical leader who can mature our IAM capabilities across cloud, enterprise, and dev environments while embedding Zero Trust principles every step of the way. You’ll build secure, seamless access experiences that balance user experience with strong guardrails — automating access decisions, reducing risk, and making auditors smile.
What you'll do:
- Own and evolve CLEAR’s IAM maturity model, including Identity Governance (IGA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Just-in-Time (JIT) access models
- Architect and drive the adoption of Zero Trust principles across users, workloads, and data flows
- Lead IAM integrations with cloud-native services (AWS, Azure, GCP), SaaS platforms, and developer ecosystems
- Drive automation in the identity lifecycle (default access, request workflows), reducing manual friction at scale
- Guide technical evaluations and migrations of IAM tools (e.g., SailPoint, CyberArk, Okta, Identity Center)
- Define standards and reference architectures for secure identity flows across hybrid cloud environments
- Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor for IAM best practices across the Engineering team
- Partner with the rest of the Security organization and IT teams to ensure IAM controls are audit-ready, resilient, and effective
- Familiarity with identity-first security architecture and Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR)
- IAM automation using low-code/no-code workflows
How you'll measure success:
- Delivery of a scalable, measurable IAM maturity roadmap
- Increased automation and standardization of identity lifecycle flows
- Successful deployment of Zero Trust capabilities (network segmentation, context-aware access, etc.)
- Reduction in access-related risk and findings during audits
- Cross-functional alignment and adoption of IAM best practices
- Uptime and performance of IAM systems and integrations
What you're great at:
- 5–10 years of experience in Identity and Access Management, with demonstrated ownership of IAM architecture or major initiatives
- Strong experience with IGA platforms (SailPoint, Saviynt), PAM solutions (CyberArk, Delinea), and cloud-native IAM
- Deep understanding of access control models (RBAC, ABAC, PBAC) and governance requirements (SOX, PCI, SOC2)
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Java preferred)
- Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and DevOps pipelines
- Strong grasp of authentication/authorization protocols (SAML, OAuth2, OIDC, SCIM)
- Experience working in containerized or multi-cloud environments
- Excellent communicator and collaborator
- Leading IAM or Zero Trust strategy in a regulated or fast-scaling environment
