Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Anduril’s EagleEye team has been building a new arsenal of AR/VR products for America and its allies. We measure our success against a long-term mission of delivering superhuman vision to every soldier, technician, and emergency responder. Our team delivers EagleEye’s operating system - the totality of software required to install, launch, and render XR apps, from perception to compositor to shell. Our opportunity to redefine the human-to-machine interface of modern conflict mandates excellence across design, reliability, and speed in every engineering contribution.
We are seeking a software engineer to advance the frontier of perception in our family of AR/VR/Helmet systems. The role requires a deep understanding of inertial, optical, and biometric sensors to capture, share, and report blue force health across a mesh network. We operate on fast timelines and expect engineers to ship production code every day.

WHAT YOU’LL DO ON DAY 1

  • Design, build, and deliver a sensor fusion runtime for environmental and biometric sensors
  • Design, build, and deliver object tracking and scene reconstruction pipelines across spectrums (thermal, low light, eo)
  • Design, build, and deliver track-to-track fusion runtime for distributed sensor networks

WHAT ELSE YOU’LL DO

  • Modify, train, and deploy state-of-the-art ML models from open source
  • Interface with kernel, calibration, and display engineers at Reality Labs, Qualcomm, and other industry partners to debug and correct hardware interfaces
  • Compose ICDs / APIs as part for third parties to integrate their own sensors and applications
  • Utilize infrastructure providing deterministic builds and configuration management, guaranteeing software traceability and minimizing maintenance burden

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • History of pathfinding products 0→1
  • Experience building a platform for sensor integration, sensor calibration, sensor fusion, and state estimation
  • Experience translating research from CVPR/conferences and streamlining into production
  • C, C++, Python, and/or Rust

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience synchronizing multiple sensors - cameras, IMUs, and IR illuminators/imagers
  • Experience minimizing false positives in noisy biometric data - blast, head acceleration, TBI
  • Experience capturing, compressing, storing sensor data on event triggers
  • Experience with deploying real-time data streams into DDIL pub/sub networks
  • Familiarity with common bus protocols - SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet, MIPI, USB - to help define electrical requirements necessary for upstream perception tasks
  • Familiarity deploying headless apps to Android
