The opportunity:

You’ll work alongside self-starters interested in solving real-world problems and streamlining the inefficiencies in the complex global trade industry. You’ll have the opportunity to reshape an industry by creating the new operating system for global trade.
You will
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain systems that represent the real-world intricacies of logistics entities, such as packing lists, booking notifications, and routing guides.
- Contribute to code reviews to maintain code quality, share knowledge, and learn from other team members.
- Collaborate with business partners and product managers to translate complex business problems into elegant technical solutions.
- Build highly available, secure, and distributed systems within a microservices architecture.
- Work collaboratively with peer teams on cross-team projects, building solutions that add new functionality to multiple Flexport systems.
- Rapidly build and launch products incrementally, leveraging best practices around CI/CD to facilitate development.
- Ensure high-quality standards by incorporating metrics and applying learnings from post-mortems to all services.
You should have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1+ years of professional experience in full-stack development with demonstrated coding skills.
- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
- Proficiency with technologies like databases, API development, and testing frameworks.
- Proficiency with deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production services.
It's a plus if you have:
- Experience with elements of our tech stack: Java, Spring Boot, Ruby on Rails, React, AWS.
- A bias for action; when you see a problem, you fix it.
- Ability to convey technical ideas in common terms to business stakeholders, product managers, and engineers alike.
- Excellent written communication skills. You will work with people all over the world with different primary languages and time zones, so great writing is key.

- Location: This role is based in Bellevue, WA and requires in-person attendance 5 days a week.
