Forward Deployed AI Engineer

In this role, you will design, build, and deploy AI-powered systems that enhance CLEAR’s products and member experiences at scale. This role will drive the development of intelligent, reliable, and secure solutions across the AI lifecycle—from data pipelines to model deployment—while embedding trust, privacy, and performance into everything we build.

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and AI models that power core product experiences and internal tools
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ML infrastructure to support training, evaluation, and production systems
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to translate business needs into AI-driven solutions
• Optimize model performance through experimentation, monitoring, and continuous improvement
• Implement best practices for responsible AI, including privacy, security, and model governance

How you’ll measure success:

• Performance and reliability of deployed models (e.g., accuracy, latency, uptime)
• Adoption and impact of AI-powered features on product and business outcomes
• Efficiency and scalability of ML pipelines and infrastructure
• Speed and quality of model iteration and deployment cycles

What you’re great at:

• 1+ years of experience in machine learning, AI engineering, or related fields
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Experience building and deploying models in production environments, preferably in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
• Familiarity with modern AI approaches, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or similar techniques
• Understanding of data engineering concepts, including data pipelines, feature engineering, and data quality
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Passion for building high-impact, user-centric AI products

The total compensation range for this role is $110,000-$160,000 depending on levels of skills and experience.

This range represents the combined base salary, and new hire equity package (in Restricted Stock Units) for this position at CLEAR. Additionally, this role will be eligible for refresh equity grants as part of our ongoing compensation program. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience, and performance. All stock based compensation will be subject to the terms and conditions of applicable agreements.
