What you’ll do:

User Research: Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions.
Design & Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to illustrate user interfaces and workflows for web and mobile applications.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure design solutions align with technical and functional requirements.
Accessibility Compliance: Ensure designs meet Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards for accessibility.
Iteration: Incorporate user feedback and analytics data to refine and improve designs.
Documentation: Develop and maintain design documentation, style guides, and component libraries to support consistent branding and development.

What you’ll need to succeed:

An active Secret clearance OR the ability to obtain
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, including designing for federal government systems or similar domains.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
Familiarity with Agile and iterative development processes.
Experience ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG 2.1).

SALARY RANGE: $78,000 - $138,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:

The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:

Performance-based bonuses
Company-paid training and/or certifications
Referral bonuses
