As a UI/UX Developer, you’ll deliver intuitive and innovative designs that drive user satisfaction and efficiency across federal government programs. In this role, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to design and improve digital experiences, focusing on accessibility, usability, and functionality with the goal to make an impact across the federal government. What you’ll do:

  • User Research: Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions.
  • Design & Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to illustrate user interfaces and workflows for web and mobile applications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure design solutions align with technical and functional requirements.
  • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure designs meet Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards for accessibility.
  • Iteration: Incorporate user feedback and analytics data to refine and improve designs.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain design documentation, style guides, and component libraries to support consistent branding and development.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • An active Secret clearance OR the ability to obtain
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, including designing for federal government systems or similar domains.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile and iterative development processes.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, WCAG 2.1).

SALARY RANGE: $78,000 - $138,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:

  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
