QUALITY ASSURANCE
What We Do
The Quality Assurance team owns the testing process, risk management, and quality evaluation of all products and functions across Epic. Our team works closely with developers and production to ensure the best possible user experience for our community and customers.
What You'll Do
As a Quality Programming Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in driving process improvements, improving automation visibility, and delivering cross-functional initiatives that strengthen QA across the Fortnite ecosystem. You’ll coordinate efforts across multiple programming, QA, and production teams—ensuring alignment, accountability, and high-impact outcomes. This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for quality. You’ll need to balance technical understanding with program management expertise to surface gaps, solve problems, and scale best practices in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
In this role, you will
- Collaborate with the Fortnite Ecosystem QA leadership to define and drive department-level KPIs and success metrics; acting as a communication bridge across disciplines, using proper escalation paths and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the development lifecycle
- Lead and document key meetings, ensuring clear communication of project status, blockers, and decisions using internal tools
- Perform root cause analysis on project gaps and implement corrective actions to improve QA effectiveness, while monitoring and reporting on data quality, leveraging insights to guide conversations around development health and product readiness
- Design and lead QA programs, establishing scalable communication channels, operating rhythms, and milestone tracking frameworks
- Build tools or extend existing test automation frameworks that improve testing efficiency and depth of coverage
- Execute both manual and technical testing techniques to evaluate feature quality and identify defects
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to their technical growth, especially in automation practices
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years in QA operations, QA program management, or QA leadership roles
- 2+ years of hands-on programming experience in Python, C++, Java, or C#
- Strong background in data reporting, quality tracking, and analytics
- Demonstrated ability to navigate fast-paced, ambiguous environments; gaming experience is a plus
- Experience contributing at both a strategic and operational level within QA or technical teams
- Proven ability to implement scalable QA processes that improve product quality and team performance
- Comfortable collaborating with senior programmers and leadership on both technical challenges and process improvements
- Familiarity with game engines or entertainment technologies, and experience across various QA domains (automation, performance, qualitative, and functional testing)
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including WA).
