Kasten by Veeam is the leader in Kubernetes Backup and Disaster Recovery. K10, our data management platform purpose-built for Kubernetes, provides enterprise operations teams an easy-to-use, scalable, and secure system for backup/restore, disaster recovery, and application mobility with unparalleled operational simplicity.

Our team is all-remote, and we're hiring for this role across all locations in the US and Canada

Your tasks will include:

  • You will own (design, build, and test) significant features in the K10 product related to backup and recovery of Kubernetes applications, databases, and storage systems.
  • Build deep expertise in everything "cloud-native" - you will be working with state-of-the-art technologies as well as building a product that makes enterprise customers succeed in their "cloud-native" transformation.
  • Write, maintain and upgrade various data formats for the data movement and storage engine.
  • Build new tests, own and analyze reports from various product benchmarks, robustness, scalability, and performance regression testing suites.
  • You will own (design, build, and test) software components with very high code-coverage.
  • Debug using application/kernel debuggers and improve the debugging/metrics toolchain as needed.
  • You will work with and contribute to the cloud-native open-source community.

What we expect from you:

  • Expertise in developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, high code coverage, scalable, multi-threaded and multi-process, concurrent systems
  • Experience with distributed systems, and consensus algorithms and client-server architectures
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and concurrency)
  • You are passionate about code quality, extensibility, coding standards, testing, high intuition with debugging skills and automation
  • You are impact and result-driven and biased towards execution
  • BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

What will be an advantage:

  • Experience developing in Go
  • Relevant programming languages: Shell scripting, Python, C/C++
  • Experience with various on-prem and cloud storage vendors and their integration/APIs.
  • Experience working with Virtual Machines (VM) and various virtual disk image formats.
  • Experience working with open file access storage protocols like SMB, NFS, CIFS etc.
  • Experience developing for and on containers, container scheduler, and orchestration platforms
  • Experience participating and contributing to open source
  • Experience presenting technical details of software products and open-source contributions to the community via presentations, papers and conferences.

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.
