You are:
As a Jira Development Engineer, you will be instrumental in the customization, configuration, and maintenance of Jira and JSM platforms to meet the needs of various teams within the organization. Your role will involve designing and implementing workflows, dashboards, and reports to enhance productivity and streamline processes. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical solutions, and ensure the platforms are optimized for performance and scalability.
In this role, you will be responsible for the administration and development of Jira and JSM instances, including the integration with other tools and systems. You will leverage your expertise to automate processes, create custom scripts, and manage user permissions. Your ability to troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues will be critical in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our project management and service management environments. Additionally, you will provide training and support to users, ensuring they can effectively utilize the tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and customize Jira and JSM to support project and service management needs.
- Design and implement workflows, screens, fields, and notifications within Jira/JSM.
- Develop custom scripts and automation rules using Jira scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript).
- Integrate Jira/JSM with third-party applications and internal systems.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and filters to provide insights into project and service performance.
- Manage user permissions, roles, and groups within Jira/JSM.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Jira/JSM-related issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Ensure the platforms are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
Here’s what you need:
- 5+ years of Development experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of the Degree)
- Jira Development and/or Engineering and/or Administration experience
- Scripting experience with one of the following: Python, JavaScript, Groovy, PowerShell, Bash
- Agile Development experience
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with other Atlassian products such as Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices.
- Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Atlassian Cloud or Data Center.
- Certification in Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira Administrator, Jira Project Administrator).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to provide training and support to users at all levels of the organization.
Security Clearance:
- Active Top Secret required with ability to obtain SCI

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience.
