Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services (AFS) is building a team of highly qualified professionals that will provide expertise in Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Automation, who will support the development and sustainment of unique environments hosted in Secure Azure cloud offerings. Our Azure Automation Engineers are crucial for optimizing cloud operations that provide enterprise services and cyber network defense capabilities to customers across the Azure Gov Cloud space. The ideal candidate will understand the fundamentals of automating system builds, has hands on experience writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and is comfortable deploying resource in the cloud utilizing command line tools.
The Work:
- Design and develop automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations and manage infrastructure at scale
- Implement and maintain IaC using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, Terraform, or Ansible
- Integrate automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines to enhance deployment processes and reduce manual effort
- Design, Deploy and Support Azure cloud native components such as Availability Zones, Storage, Serverless, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Containerization, System Administration, Backups, Patching, etc.
- Work closely with DevOps, cloud architects, and other engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and implement best practices
- Utilizing Azure Monitor and other tools to implement and monitor service health metrics to ensure optimal performance and reliability throughout the cloud enterprise
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks but also work well in a cross-team environment
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation processes and scripts
- Ensure all automation solutions adhere to security policies and compliance standards
Here's what you need:
- 2+ years of experience in Cloud IaaS and PaaS design, deploy, and support
- 2+ years of experience in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- 1+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or Ansible
Bonus points if you have:
- Good communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop strong professional relationships with fellow team members
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Administrator Associate are highly desirable
Security Clearance:
- Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
