About the Team
The Clients Platform team at Verkada is responsible for the foundational architecture that powers our "Command" interface across all devices. We don’t just build features; we build the tools and frameworks that allow dozens of other product teams to scale. This team owns the Design System, CI/CD pipelines, and the Modularization of our Web and Mobile codebases. As the leader of this group, you will manage a team of 15-20 engineers (including tech leads and managers) to define the vision for how Verkada's software feels, performs, and scales.
What You’ll Do
- Architectural Strategy: Lead the multi-quarter effort to modularize our Web (React) and Mobile (Native) codebases to support a rapidly growing engineering org.
- Platform Vision: Define the future of our client-side stack, evaluating and driving adoption of new technologies (e.g., Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), advanced WebView integration, or specialized build tooling).
- Manage Managers: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of 15-20, including Engineering Leads and sub-managers, focusing on career growth and high-output delivery.
- Standardize the Craft: Own the Verkada Design System and CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring that "Quality by Default" is a reality for every frontend and mobile engineer in the company.
- Technical Deep-Dive: Act as a high-level technical partner. While you won't be expected to ship production code daily, you will be expected to dive deep into technical designs, challenge architectural decisions, and maintain a high bar for engineering excellence.
- Collaborative Leadership: Partner with the Director of Core Platform and other stakeholders to align the platform roadmap with Verkada’s aggressive product expansion goals.
What You Bring
- Proven Leadership: 10+ years of experience in engineering management, specifically with experience managing other managers or leads.
- Platform Expertise: You have previously led "Platform," "Core," or "Infrastructure" teams where your primary customers were other engineers.
- Technical Depth: Extensive experience with React on the web and a strong understanding of Native Mobile (Swift/Kotlin) ecosystems.
- Modernization Experience: You have successfully led large-scale architectural shifts, such as moving from a monolith to a modularized architecture or implementing a company-wide Design System.
- Grit & Vision: You are excited by the challenge of 5-days-per-week onsite collaboration and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you must balance long-term technical health with immediate product needs.
- Education: BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.

Annual Pay Range
At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate's skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)
Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
