Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
Join BILL as a Senior Staff Product Analyst on our Central Data & Analytics team, where you’ll turn our rich payments and back-office data into the trusted products, models, and insights that power decisions across the company. In this high-visibility individual contributor role, you’ll be the deepest technical and analytical authority in your domain, architecting the data products and frameworks that underpin strategic, operational, and regulatory outcomes for leaders across Finance, Product, and Go-to-Market.
You’ll sit at the intersection of data architecture, product analytics, and executive decision-making, setting the bar for how analytics is built and consumed at BILL. If you love taking ambiguous business problems from idea to production-grade data assets, care deeply about metrics rigor and data quality, and thrive as the person others call when the problem is hard and high stakes, this role is for you.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end delivery of high-leverage data products — from ambiguous business problem to production-grade dashboards, semantic layers, and data marts — with clear accountability for design, build, and impact.
- Architect scalable, reliable data models and pipelines that serve as the organization’s source of truth, balancing performance, cost, governance, and usability.
- Define, document, and enforce technical standards for AI governance, data quality, metrics definitions, and dashboard design, creating patterns that other analysts and engineers adopt.
- Translate complex, high-stakes business questions into rigorous metrics frameworks, instrumentation plans, and experimentation or analysis approaches that executives can act on with confidence.
- Act as a force multiplier by mentoring analysts and engineers across teams, reviewing designs and code, and raising the technical bar through example and guidance.
- Build trusted advisory relationships with senior leaders, influencing data and analytics strategy and helping resolve cross-team misalignment around data ownership, definitions, and architecture.
- Drive org-wide adoption of data products and standards through clear documentation, training, office hours, and proactive communication — measuring success by usage, trust, and decision impact.
- Evaluate and apply AI/LLM-based tooling to accelerate analysis and self-serve consumption of data products, e.g. natural-language query interfaces, automated metric anomaly detection, or AI-assisted documentation, while ensuring outputs meet the same governance and accuracy bar as human-authored analysis
We’d love to chat if you have:
- 10+ years of progressively deeper experience in analytics, BI, or data engineering, with a track record of independently owning large-scope, high-impact initiatives end to end.
- Expert-level SQL skills, including query optimization at scale, advanced window functions and CTEs, and the ability to explain and improve complex queries and modeling approaches.
- Deep data modeling expertise (e.g., dimensional and incremental modeling, partitioning/bucketing strategies) and experience embedding data quality, security, and access controls into models by default.
- Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data warehouse or lakehouse platform (such as Snowflake, Starburst/Trino, Databricks, or similar) and at least one BI platform (such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI).
- Exceptional stakeholder communication skills, with a history of turning complex technical tradeoffs into simple, compelling narratives and recommendations for senior, non-technical audiences.
Desired Qualifications:
- Working proficiency in Python for data manipulation, pipeline logic, analytics tooling, or automation.
- Demonstrated experience shaping data or BI standards across an organization (for example, AI governance, KPI certification, or enterprise metric frameworks) and influencing without formal authority.
