As a Reliability engineering team, our charter is build tools and processes that help to increase reliability and resiliency of Unity services. We build tools which to facilitate incident management as well as to measure, detect, and prevent production issues. We build systems that provide insights into working software. And we use processes and communication to work with other teams to create a culture of reliability.

What you'll be doing
- Perform prioritization and planning tasks, such as quarterly planning, building backlog, performing backlog grooming and sprint planning.
- Execute engineer discretion to promote and implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with service development teams to design and implement scalable and reliability infrastructure observability solutions that enhance the organization's ability to anticipate, detect, and respond to service disruptions.
- Oversee work from other engineers and provide guidance.
- Execute written procedures (runbooks) during service disruptions while ensuring efficient issue resolution and minimal downtime.
- Act as Incident Commander during major outages by establishing communication channels with teams and working with them towards incident resolution.
- Provide support to teams that use observability platform services.
- Draft new technical documentation for recently developed features and other improvements.
- Engage with external partners to assess new tools and technologies that can improve the organization's SRE engineers' capabilities.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in SRE, staying updated on new techniques and methodologies that enhance the organization's approach to reliability engineering.
- Develop scripts and pipelines that automate repetitive tasks such as backups, data processing and updates.
- Implement measures to optimize infrastructure utilization by leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Design and implementing cloud operation budget strategies to optimize budget utilization and reduce expenses.
What we're looking for
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus two (2) years of related work experience.
- Requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Observability practices, including road mapping, strategy, coding, and documentation; Cloud usage by leveraging data from various sources and tools; Operating the Runbook Execution Slack Bot; Overseeing the CI/CD revamp, pipelines and automation; Planning Platform Infrastructure Migration; Kubernetes, Docker, or Git; and Go, Python, Terraform, or SQL.
- In the alternative, employer will accept four (4) years of related work experience.
- Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
- 40 hrs./week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. $$162,531/yr. - $172,531/yr. Standard company benefits.
- Telecommuting permitted during office closures/other restricted staff presence as determined by the employer.
