Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer
Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Hybrid Cloud & DevSecOps (DSOP), including automation, cloud services, container orchestration & software development. This role requires a strong foundation in Linux engineering and containerization technologies, along with proficiency in applying DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and operating within DSOP environments. The candidate will have a proven track record in automating software security and implementing solutions to accelerate release cycles. This roles core responsibility revolves around empowering development teams with a robust platform that streamlines processes and enhances collaboration.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and own the architecture, development, integration, and support of build, integration & test, and deployment pipelines, optimizing for performance and scalability platforms such as Kubernetes, Gitlab, ArgoCD, etc, across hybrid cloud computing environments.
- Read and understand various application programming interfaces (APIs) and implement automation as required.
- Develop & Improve automation for efficient deployment and management of cloud resources using tools such as AWS CLI, CloudFormation, Ansible and Terraform.
- Engineer robust Linux solutions and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Integrate security and compliance into the platform by implementing services such as encryption and access management to meet DISA STIGs compliance with security standards and policies across hybrid containerized environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Account for disaster recovery scenarios, implement & test backup and recovery procedures.
- Monitor the environment for performance metrics and alerts, identify bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.
- Stay abreast of latest DevSecOps and Cloud Native technologies and work with stakeholders to recommend more efficient solutions
Here's what you need:
- Minimum of 5 years' direct experience in cloud engineering with a strong focus on AWS.
- Experience with Linux/Unix Administration.
- Experience with design, implementation and management of infrastructure computer, storage, networking and security policies.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Proficient in one or more computer programming languages commonly used in scripting & automation. IE: Bash, Python, Go, Rust
- Experience in applying DISA STIGs within cloud and containerized environments.
- Experience in automating cloud deployments and developing infrastructure as code (IaC).
Bonus points if you have:
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Possess and maintain relevant DoD 8570/8140 IAT level II Certification.
- Possess one or more of the following certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS SysOps Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, GIAC Cloud Security Automation, HashiCorp Certified Terraform Associate
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong background in DevOps practices and tools, including Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and Terraform

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set and level of experience. The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia is:$97,300—$196,500 USD
