Anduril Engineers in the Connected Warfare (CW) Division work across disciplines to build, deploy, integrate, extend, and scale Anduril's software and hardware systems to deliver mission-critical capabilities to our customers at the tactical edge. As the engineers closest to customers/end-users, ECC NEXT Engineers are designed to solve technical challenges of operational scenarios while owning the end-to-end delivery of winning capabilities to bring new capabilities from zero to one.

ABOUT THE JOB
As a Network Architect on the Edge Compute and Comms (ECC) NEXT Engineering team, you will combine industry leading commercial technologies with legacy military systems to rapidly prototype and create new products and solutions to address a wide variety of customer problems involving software, hardware, networking, autonomy/robotics, systems integration, and more, while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs along the way. Your efforts will ensure that Anduril and 3P products seamlessly work together to achieve a variety of critical outcomes. Above all, ECC Engineers are driven by a “Whatever It Takes” mindset—executing in an expedient, scalable, and methodical way while keeping the mission top-of-mind and making sound engineering decisions to deliver successful outcomes correctly, on-time, and with high quality. You will work on new technology introduction and enhancing products like the Menace Family of Systems to bring integrated C4 (Compute, Comms, Command, and Control) capabilities to the tactical edge.
Our C4 systems must function in highly dynamic and adversarial environments where nodes have varying states of link quality & availability, have frequently changing network topologies and are under constant threat of interference ranging from electronic warfare to physical destruction. In addition, our assets are deployed to austere combat zones which do not have the well-developed network infrastructure which most network solutions rely on. Our challenge is to provide networking software and hardware systems that provide reliability, resilience, speed and security in these challenging environments.
We are looking for an highly organized, growth mindset, hands-on, Network Architect to design, prototype, build and collaborate with cross functional engineering and business development teams to exceed customer expectations and bring new products and capabilities to market.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work directly with customers and product teams to identify network designs and features necessary to achieve mission success
- Design and deploy networking and communication architectures for tactical edge products
- Design, implement and deploy mesh networks, physical and logical
- Incorporate SDWAN architectures to meet customer needs
- Leverage software to integrate networking hardware
- Measure and improve system performance
- Create diagnostic, testing, and simulation tools
- Review and improve product security
- Debug issues at all layers of the stack from low level kernel bugs to cloud networking issues
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Networking, Mathematics, or Physics
- 3+ years as a technical leader on Agile engineering teams
- 8+ years working with a variety of networking & routing tools such as Linux, Cisco IOS, Junos OS, BGP, EIGRP, etc
- Expertise in a broad variety of networking and communications protocols and waveforms
- Excellent algorithmic problem solving abilities
- Willingness to own solutions across their entire lifecycle from design to deployment
- Experience in several areas such as: computer networking, routing protocols, time sync, security, zero trust, IPsec/MACsec, systems performance, Linux
- Experience with classified over commercial networks
- CSfC and other modern approaches to network security
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
- Travel up to 10%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Military tactical networking and radio experience
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript, etc.
- Deep technical knowledge of switches and routers
- Deep technical knowledge of radios and waveforms
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
