About the Opportunity
As the Director of Security Engineering at OKX, you will be a key leader responsible for building and scaling a world-class security engineering function. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our systems, applications, and infrastructure from ever-evolving cyber threats. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that requires a deep technical background in security engineering and the ability to lead a high-performing team. You will be responsible for the overall security architecture, secure development lifecycle, and the implementation of cutting-edge security technologies to protect our global user base.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, mentor, and expand a global team of security engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive security engineering strategy and roadmap that aligns with the company's business objectives and risk appetite.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's security architecture to ensure the protection of our platform and user assets.
- Champion and integrate security best practices into the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), from design and development to testing and deployment.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of advanced security tools and technologies, including solutions for threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Audit to ensure security is a foundational component of all our products and services.
- Drive the automation of security processes and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay at the forefront of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and proactively apply this knowledge to enhance our security posture.
- Establish and report on key security metrics to provide visibility into the effectiveness of the security engineering program to senior leadership.
What We Look For In You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
- About 10 years of experience in information security, with a significant portion of that time in a security engineering role.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of building and leading successful security teams.
- Deep technical expertise in security architecture, secure coding practices, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Extensive experience with cloud security (AWS, AliCloud, etc.) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of cryptographic principles and their application in securing systems and data.
- Experience in the crypto, DeFi, or digital assets space is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in both Mandarin and English is required, including the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both languages

- The salary range for this position is $250,444-$375,666
- The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition to the salary, a performance bonus and long-term incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
