Accenture Federal Services (AFS) is seeking skilled professionals to join our Cloud Operations Support team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing secure environments within Azure. This team combines Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Automation expertise to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure mission-critical services. Azure Engineers are essential for sustaining and optimizing cloud operations through automated infrastructure provisioning, system build streamlining and enhanced cyber defense. They handle lifecycle support using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deploy resources via command-line tools and scripting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on IaC experience, a solid understanding of automated system deployment, and a passion for driving operational efficiency with secure, scalable automation.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Design and implement automation scripts and tooling to streamline cloud operations, enhance system reliability, and manage infrastructure at scale within Azure Gov Cloud environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Bicep to support consistent and secure environment provisioning
- Automate system builds and configuration workflows, integrating solutions with pipelines to reduce manual effort and accelerate deployment cycles
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure-native services including Availability Zones, Storage, Serverless Functions, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Containers, Backup solutions, and patching mechanisms
- Collaborate with DevOps teams, cloud architects, and systems engineers to identify operational inefficiencies and implement automation best practices across cloud lifecycle management
- Monitor service health and performance using Azure Monitor and other observability tools to ensure optimal uptime, scalability, and responsiveness of mission-critical systems
- Operate independently on assigned tasks while contributing effectively in cross-functional team environments focused on secure cloud operations and continuous improvement
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for all automation processes, scripts, and operational procedures to support long-term maintainability and knowledge sharing
Here's what you need:
- Proven experience deploying and managing Azure-native services such as; Virtual Networks, NSGs, Load Balancers, Azure Functions, Storage Accounts, Availability Zones, Containerization (AKS, Docker), Backup & Patch Management
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and Active Directory, including domain architecture, FSMO roles, group policy management, and user authentication workflows
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, or Ansible
- Scripting experience using scripts such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and deployment tasks

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
