We're looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer/Architect to join our Cellular Innovation team. As part of our innovative team, you will play a critical role in the development and enhancement of our cutting-edge cloud security solutions for the Cellular ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering. This is a hybrid role, reporting into the San Jose, CA office 3 days a week. You will:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-based enterprise applications in collaboration with cross-functional engineers
Utilize strong proficiency in one or more languages (Java, Python, Go, or C++) to build solutions for the Cellular and 5G ecosystem
Define specifications and identify platform infrastructure for high-speed traffic processing at the edge
Apply experience in big data analytics, streaming platforms, or dashboard visualization to support real-time requirements

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

10+ years of hands-on application development experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Strong proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, Go, or C++
Experience designing and implementing microservices and distributed architectures
Background with real-time analytics, distributed datastores, or big data pipeline development

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience in the cybersecurity industry or with cloud security solutions
Knowledge of cellular architecture, network protocols, or high performance computing
Experience working with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$182,000—$260,000 USD
